Claims under SIR to be accepted till March 6: CEO
LUCKNOW, Feb. 8 -- Navdeep Rinwa, Uttar Pradesh chief electoral officer (CEO), on Saturday said claims and objections under the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls would be accepted till March 6.
He said objections regarding deceased, shifted, duplicate or missing voters were being processed strictly as per rules through Form-7. Rinwa said deletion of names from the electoral roll was carried out to ensure an error-free voter list.
Applications under Form-7 can be filed only by a person whose name already exists in the concerned electoral roll and must include complete personal details. The list of objections received is prepared in Form-10 and displayed daily on the notice board of the electoral registration officer, besides being uploaded on the district election officer's website.
"Objections are disposed of after due process, including notices, field verification by booth level officers and hearings," he said....
