CJM seeks police report on social media posts against Akhilesh's daughter
PRAYAGRAJ, June 14 -- The chief judicial magistrate (CJM), Prayagraj, has summoned a report from the local police regarding an alleged objectionable post about former UP chief minister Akhilesh Yadav's daughter that went viral on social media. The court fixed June 18 as the next date of hearing.
The CJM passed the order on an application filed by Yogesh Chandra Yadav, former Samajwadi Party district president, seeking registration of an FIR against the account holders behind this mischief.
He has also sought to get the matter thoroughly investigated by the cybercrime cell of the police.
According to the applicant, the motive behind the alleged post is to tarnish the image of Akhilesh Yadav and to disturb the social harmony.
It is further alleged in the petition that the language used in several social media posts are the same, therefore, it prima facie shows that it is being used under a planned conspiracy.
The petitioner says that the nature of the matter is purely cyber and digital. Therefore, only the cyber expert agency of the police can obtain electronic evidence, which will lead to the contact number, e-mail IDs of actual creator of the post and accordingly they can be brought to book....
