Chief secy to review progress of CBI probe
PRAYAGRAJ, Sept. 1 -- UP chief secretary SP Goyal will review the CBI investigation into the alleged irregularities in the Additional Private Secretary (APS) recruitment 2010 of Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission at a high level meeting to be held at the secretariat on Monday.
In a letter issued on August 29 by joint secretary Uttar Pradesh Government Ashok Kumar Mishra, a high level meeting will be held on Monday in which secretary UP Public Service Commission, Director CBI and Superintendent of Police CBI Anti Corruption are participating.
A letter to this effect has also been sent to Principal Secretary (Home), Principal Secretary (Personnel), complainant Pratiyogi Chhatra Sangharsh Samiti president Avnish Pandey and others.
Earlier, the CBI director had written a letter to the chief secretary on May 26, 2025 expressing dissatisfaction over the non-cooperation of the UP Public Service Commission in the Additional Private Secretary Recruitment scam probe and requested permission for investigations against three officers of the Commission involved in the recruitment scam.
After that, the Commission gave permission to the CBI to investigate its officers on June 25.
Pratiyogi Chhatra Sangharsh Samiti president Avnish Pandey says that apart from getting permission for the CBI investigation, he wrote a letter to chief minister Yogi Adityanath and the CBI director to complete the probe pending for seven years on priority basis.
Pandey claimed that most of the candidates have been selected in this recruitment through serious fraud. Prashant Pandey, media in-charge of the Pratiyogi Chhatra Sangharsh Samiti, said that they expect the government to cooperate in the CBI investigation and immediately suspend the candidates selected in an unethical manner and take strict action against them....
