Chief minister Yogi interacts with BC Sakhi
VARANASI, March 9 -- Chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Sunday interacted with BC Sakhi Sita Devi from Varanasi via video conferencing while attending an event as chief guest in Lucknow.
During the interaction, the chief minister spoke to Sita Devi, a resident of Harsos village, who thanked the government for the benefits she had received under various schemes and said they had helped support her family.
She told Yogi that she delivers food to Anganwadi children using her vehicle and that her initiative has inspired other women in the village to drive e-rickshaws and become self-reliant. In Mirzamurad, part of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's parliamentary constituency of Varanasi, several women from self-help groups have begun driving e-rickshaws, setting an example of self-reliance.
Beneficiaries of the Destitute Women Pension Scheme and the Chief Minister's Child Service Scheme from the district probation office (women welfare department) were also present at the programme, along with beneficiaries of the National Rural Livelihood Mission (NRLM), including BC Sakhis and Drone Didis.
Durga, a resident of the Government Children's Home for Girls in Ramnagar, Varanasi, was honoured by the chief minister at the state-level function for scoring 85% in Class 10.
