Chhattisgarh BJP chief injured in SUV crash near Jhansi
Jhansi, July 30 -- Chhattisgarh BJP president Kiran Singh Dev was injured after his SUV rammed into a stationary truck on NH-44 near Talbehat on Wednesday evening while he was travelling with his family. His driver also sustained injuries.
Dev had arrived in Jhansi with his family a day earlier. On Wednesday, after visiting Orchha and Datia, he was on his way to Jabalpur. As his convoy moved along the Lalitpur road, the driver of the lead SUV reportedly lost control, causing the vehicle to crash into a truck parked on the roadside. Both Dev and the driver were injured.
Bystanders rushed to the spot to help, while police and local BJP functionaries also reached the scene. The injured were initially taken to the Community Health Centre before being referred to Jhansi Medical College. Medical College principal Dr Sudhir Kumar said a thorough examination revealed that Dev had suffered a hip dislocation. "The procedure has been successfully completed and his condition is stable," he said.
Dev is scheduled to be airlifted to Delhi on Thursday morning for further evaluation. Doctors said the driver's condition is also stable. htc...
