Agra, June 10 -- A man habitual of snatching gold chains from women devotees at religious places was arrested by Mathura police after an encounter on Monday night. According to deputy superintendent of police (DSP) Sadar, PP Singh, on Monday night police got information about the movement of the accused who had snatched a gold chain from a woman devotee in Mathura on June 1 and a case was registered at Jait police station of Mathura in the matter. "The accused, when asked to stop, turned his motorcycle and fired on the police team but was injured in retaliatory fire. The accused has been identified as Vishal Kumar (23), a resident of Iglas town in Aligarh district and was in the habit of snatching chains from women devotees at religious places," stated DSP PP Singh. "Illegal arms, snatched chain and a motorcycle without number plate was recovered from the accused who was hospitalised. He is wanted in case registered under section 304(2) BNS at Jait police station and has criminal past with cases registered against him at Mathura and Aligarh district," said Singh.htc...
