Dehradun, Aug. 6 -- Chief electoral officer BVRC Purushottam has received a notice regarding the discrepancy in his name, officials said on Wednesday, adding that the documents required were already submitted to the Booth Level Officer (BLO) concerned. A statement from Purushottam's office said the notice was regarding a mismatch in the electoral record. Addressing the matter, Purushottam said that such notices "issued due to discrepancies in names or other details are part of the routine verification process and should not be viewed with concern." He said that all districts were instructed to resolve minor discrepancies through BLOs themselves and save citizens from unnecessary inconvenience. He also directed officials to place unmapped electors on priority and take appropriation action after hearings with electoral and assistant electoral registration officers. (EROs and AEROs).
