Jaipur, May 15 -- In a boost to Rajasthan's dairy sector, the Centre has given in-principle approval for financial assistance of Rs.1,500 crore to the Rajasthan Cooperative Dairy Federation (RCDF) for expansion of milk collection, processing and marketing infrastructure across the state. The decision was taken during a meeting chaired by Rajasthan chief secretary V Srinivas in Jaipur, where plans to expand the state's dairy network and establish the Saras brand at the national level were discussed. The assistance includes Rs.1,000 crore under the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) project and Rs.500 crore under the National Programme for Dairy Development (NPDD).
