LUCKNOW, May 25 -- Intensifying preparations for Census 2027, the Lucknow Municipal Corporation (LMC) has decided to seek Resident Welfare Associations' (RWAs) support to strengthen the city-wide exercise. The civic body has directed officials to increase outreach efforts and ensure better coordination at the community level. As part of the initiative, the LMC has issued instructions to all zonal officers and census charge officers to coordinate with major residential welfare societies operating in their respective areas. Officials believe that involving RWAs will help improve communication with residents and support effective execution of census-related activities across the city. The civic body has convened a meeting on Monday at Smart City office in Lalbagh to discuss preparations and coordination for the exercise. Municipal commissioner Gaurav Kumar will chair the meeting, while representatives of major RWAs and senior civic officials will take part in it. Abhinav Ranjan Srivastava, additional municipal commissioner and city census officer, said the administration has directed zonal officers to establish direct contact with representatives of major housing societies and ensure their participation in the meeting.
