Meerut, March 11 -- A 13-year-old boy was critically injured after being struck by a bullet during celebratory firing at an engagement ceremony in Gulaothi area of Bulandshahr on Tuesday evening. The victim, identified as Mohd Kaif, a resident of Gulawathi, had arrived at the function to play drums with his elder brother. During the celebrations, someone allegedly opened fire in the air, and a bullet hit Kaif in the head. He was immediately taken to a nearby hospital and later referred to a higher medical centre in Meerut due to his critical condition. "The minor is currently admitted in the ICU and has undergone a head surgery. An FIR has been registered under BNS 109 (attempt to murder) against Paritosh Kumar and his son Harsh Singh," said SP City Shankar Prasad. In a similar incident, an 8-year-old boy had sustained a bullet injury in the head after another boy allegedly opened fire during a marriage ceremony in the Sarraf Bazar area of Bulandshahr on February 19....
