CBSE to use best score average to assess West Asia Class 10 students
New Delhi, March 20 -- The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced that the results for Class 10 students in the West Asia region will be based on the average of their best scores from papers taken between February 17 and February 28 before the remaining examinations scheduled from March 1 onwards were cancelled due to the escalating US-Israel-Iran conflict.
In a March 18 notice, CBSE said students' scores will be derived from their best-performing subjects among papers conducted between February 17 and February 28. Before the cancellation, the board had conducted examinations for six academic subjects, 16 languages, and 22 skill subjects across more than 150 affiliated schools in Bahrain, Iran, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.
The board has categorised students into five groups based on the number of exams they were able to take: those who appeared in all papers, and those who appeared in four, three, or two exams, as well as private candidates under the compartment category.
