CBN seizes 8,800 NRx tablets, 1,269 codeine syrup bottles; 1 held
LUCKNOW, May 28 -- The Central Bureau of Narcotics (CBN) has seized 8,800 NRx tablets and 1,269 bottles of Codeine Phosphate syrup during a joint anti-narcotics operation near Sonipat in Haryana, officials said on Wednesday. The action was carried out on Tuesday by officers of the Bareilly Division (UP Unit) of CBN along with the Delhi Cell of the CBN Headquarters, Gwalior, under the Centre's "Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan" against illegal trafficking of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances.
According to officials, the joint team intercepted a car on the Meerut-Kharkhoda Highway near Sonipat and apprehended a person allegedly transporting prescription medicines without valid documents.
Officers recovered 2,600 tablets of Clonazepam weighing around 0.599 kg, 6,200 tablets of Tramadol weighing approximately 1.891 kg and 1,269 bottles of Codeine Phosphate syrup. Officials said the total seizure comprised 8,800 NRx tablets and 1,269 bottles of Codeine Phosphate syrup. The accused was arrested under relevant provisions of the NDPS Act. htc...
