PRAYAGRAJ, Aug. 20 -- A case has been registered against a man for hitting two policemen with his bike in an attempt to escape during a routing checking drive in Pratapgarh on Monday night. The bike rider himself got hurt after his bike overturned. The police personnel present on the spot recovered a pistol from his possession. The cops and the accused were referred to the medical college from PHC. A case has been registered against the bike rider for attack on police personnel and possession of a pistol. As per the reports, SI Devendra Kumar Pathak along with his team of Baghrai police station in Pratapgarh were carrying out routine checking near Losnapur sports ground at around 12 midnight on Monday. When the police tried to stop the bike rider coming from the Bihara side, he increased the speed. The bike overturned after hitting constable Lokesh Baishla and Ranjeet Kumar and both of them got seriously injured. The police personnel present on the spot recovered a .315 bore pistol and cartridges from the bike rider identified as Adarsh Yadav alias Gopal, a resident of Malang-Ka-Takiya, Nawabganj, Prayagraj. Adarsh was also brought to CHC Baghrai along with the injured constables. From here he was referred to medical college. However, both the constables were taken to Prayagraj. CO (Sadar) Karishma Gupta said that the bike rider has a criminal record and he was planning to commit some crime.
