VARANASI, Aug. 11 -- A candidate was arrested for allegedly attempting to cheat during the UPSSSC Agriculture Technical Assistant (Main) examination at Shibli Inter College in Azamgarh on Sunday, police said. Superintendent of police (Traffic) Pankaj Kumar Srivastava said the candidate was identified as 24-year-old Alok Patel, a resident of Jansa area in Varanasi. The electronic devices recovered from him were seized and legal action was initiated. Srivastava said Patel allegedly attempted to cheat using a tiny earpiece connected via Bluetooth, while two small batteries were concealed in his innerwear. Invigilators became suspicious of the candidate's activities, following which a police team conducted a thorough search. They recovered a tiny earpiece concealed inside his ear, a Bluetooth device and two batteries hidden in his innerwear. A case has been registered at Kotwali police station in Azamgarh under Sections 319(2), 318(4) and 61(2) of the BNS; Sections 8, 11(6) and 13(5) of the Uttar Pradesh Public Examination Ordinance, 2024; and Section 66D of the Information Technology Act, 2008....
