Kolkata, May 13 -- A division bench of the Calcutta high court on Tuesday recused itself from hearing a petition seeking a fresh investigation into the 2024 rape and murder of a trainee doctor at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital, lawyers and the victim's mother who attended the hearing said. The bench of justices Rajasekhar Mantha and Rai Chattopadhyay directed that the matter be placed before the high court's Chief Justice Sujoy Paul.
