LUCKNOW, Aug. 8 -- A 55-year-old man was allegedly robbed of his gold chain by two unidentified motorcycle-borne men while on a morning walk in the Jankipuram area on Friday, police said. The incident took place at around 7 am near Janta Inter College under the Gudamba police station area. According to the police, the victim, identified as Pawan Kapoor, a chartered accountant (CA) and resident of Jankipuram, was walking along a lane behind his house when two men on a motorcycle approached him. The helmeted accused allegedly snatched the gold chain from his neck before fleeing the spot. Police said they were alerted about the incident shortly afterwards, following which a team reached the spot to inspect the area and collect evidence. Police are analysing CCTV footage from nearby routes and possible escape routes, besides examining technical evidence and other available inputs to identify the motorcycle used in the crimes and trace the accused. "CCTV footage has so far revealed that the criminals who targeted the CA also carried out chain-snatching incidents at two other places on Friday. Their identities have not yet been established and efforts are underway to trace them," Gudamba station house officer (SHO) Anjani Mishra said. Police are also questioning local residents to establish the sequence of events and gather clues about the accused. Multiple teams have been deployed to trace the suspects with the help of CCTV footage and technical evidence. Police suspect the same motorcycle-borne miscreants may have been behind Sunday's chain-snatching incident as well, as the modus operandi in both cases appears to be similar. On Sunday, retired Geological Survey of India deputy director general Ashok Kumar was allegedly robbed of his gold chain by two motorcycle-borne men while walking from Number 4 crossing towards SBI Road. The incident occurred around 11 pm when the accused allegedly approached him from behind, snatched the chain and fled. Kumar raised an alarm and tried to chase the accused, but they managed to escape....
