PRAYAGRAJ, Sept. 25 -- A 48-year-old tea stall owner was killed after being hit and allegedly dragged for nearly 200 metres by a bus in the Rampur area under Industrial police station in Prayagraj on Thursday morning. The driver abandoned the bus and fled after the accident. The deceased was identified as Ramnarayan Gupta, a resident of Silondhi village in Meja, Prayaraj. Police said Ramnarayan had left home in the morning to open his shop when a bus travelling from Prayagraj towards Mirzapur allegedly hit him from behind. Following the collision, he was dragged for about 200 metres before the vehicle stopped. Local residents chased the bus, following which the driver allegedly abandoned the vehicle and fled. A search has been launched for the absconding driver. Passengers travelling on the bus alleged that the driver appeared to be intoxicated and was driving at a high speed. A 33-year-old man, a tailor by profession, was found hanging at his home in the Pure Pitai locality under City Kotwali police station of Pratapgarh on Thursday morning. Police have seized his mobile phone and are investigating the circumstances surrounding his death. Family members found him hanging from a ceiling fan with a bedsheet at around 8am. After being informed, City Kotwali SHO Subhash Yadav and Civil Lines outpost in-charge Rahul Kumar reached the spot, took custody of the body and sent it for post-mortem examination. A forensic team also inspected the scene and collected evidence. During the preliminary investigation, police reportedly found that photos, videos and call records had been deleted from the deceased's mobile phone. The device has been seized for further examination. Family members told police that the deceased had been in contact with a woman. His mother subsequently submitted a complaint alleging that the woman and her family members had been harassing her son. PRAYAGRAJ: A 32-year-old tent house worker was killed after allegedly being hit by a municipal corporation tractor inside the Zone-4 premises in Prayagraj, late Wednesday night. The victim's family alleged that civic body personnel failed to take him to the hospital or inform the police after the accident. The deceased was identified as Sanjay Bhartiya, a resident of Matiyara Road in Alopibagh. According to his brother, Sanjay had left home on Wednesday night to attend a Jagran and at around 10pm, he was allegedly hit by a vehicle inside the Municipal Corporation's Zone-4 premises. Georgetown SHO Rukumpal Singh said the accident involved a Municipal Corporation tractor. Acting on a complaint lodged by Sanjay's mother, Lakshmi, police have registered a case and initiated legal proceedings....
