LUCKNOW, Feb. 26 -- In a brazen burglary barely 50 steps from the Itaunja police station in Lucknow, thieves broke into a mobile phone shop in the early hours of Wednesday and decamped with cash and goods worth around Rs.2 lakh. The incident took place around 4 am at Shri Balaji Mobile Shop, owned by Adarsh Trivedi. Trivedi said he had shut his shop at around 8 pm on Tuesday. On Wednesday morning, a neighbouring shopkeeper alerted him that the shutter of his store had been broken. Gyanendra Singh, ACP, Bakshi ka Talab, said that the matter was being investigated and action will follow. Trivedi said that given the shop's proximity to the police station, he chose to go there directly around 9 am to lodge an FIR instead of calling Dial 112. "There were no police personnel present.
