BSV expands into Western music instrument training
LUCKNOW, June 14 -- Bhatkhande Sanskriti Vishwavidyalaya (BSV), known for classical performing arts, is expanding into Western music training. After introducing certificate courses in Western (Spanish) guitar and keyboard last year, the university has reduced the course fee and capped each batch at 25 students this session. Vice-chancellor Prof Mandavi Singh said the response to workshops on guitar and keyboard prompted the university to launch the courses.

The six-month course had no fixed number of seats until the last session, but due to limited resources, only 25 students will be accepted this year. If demand is high, another batch of 25 students may be offered," said Singh. The fee for the six-month course has been reduced from Rs 6,000 to Rs 5,000. The university is also launching 12 new courses in areas including audio-video editing, research and teaching techniques. Online applications have begun. htc...
