LUCKNOW, May 3 -- Uttar Pradesh can expect continued relief from extreme summer conditions, with the Lucknow meteorological department predicting another spell of unseasonal rain and thunderstorms sweeping across the state beginning May 4. Showers are likely to initiate over western UP by May 3. The precipitation will gain momentum across the state on May 4 before gradually receding by May 5. With the influence of the receding Western Disturbance having subsided, temperatures are expected to rise by 4 to 6degC over the next two days, a Lucknow Met official said. "However, in light of the anticipated arrival of a subsequent Western Disturbance, which is likely to trigger another round of rainfall accompanied by storms across the state starting May 4 - potentially causing temperatures to drop once again by 6 to 8degC - there is no likelihood of heatwaves occurring till May 10," said Atul Kumar Singh, senior scientist at the Lucknow Met office. Day and night temperatures in Lucknow were 34.1 and 23.1 degrees Celsius, respectively on Saturday. Sunday forecast is clear sky becoming partly cloudy towards evening. Orai was the hottest in UP at 43.6 degreesc followed by Banda at 40.6.htc...
