Lucknow, Sept. 20 -- The hunger strike by doctors posted at community and primary health centres under a service bond entered its second day on Saturday. Four doctors staged the protest at the Gandhi statue in Hazratganj. They said medical college doctors earn about Rs.1.20 lakh a month, against Rs.55,000 for bond-posted doctors, despite rural postings and limited facilities. After nearly a month of protests, they resumed the agitation when no official order followed government assurances.
