VARANASI, July 22 -- A security operation was launched at Janghai Railway Station on Tuesday morning following an anonymous bomb threat, which later proved to be a hoax. The alarm was raised when an unidentified caller contacted the government railway police (GRP) to report a suspicious unclaimed trolley bag on Platform Number 1, claiming it might contain a bomb. In response, a joint team comprising GRP, railway protection force (RPF) and Mirganj police personnel immediately cordoned off the station. The security forces conducted a thorough two-hour search covering all five platforms and the circulating area. While passengers faced temporary panic during the intensive operation, no explosives or suspicious items were discovered. As a further precaution, the bomb detection and disposal squad (BDDS) was summoned from Prayagraj to conduct a secondary inspection of the complex. The squad confirmed that the premises were clear. "Police teams reached the spot and conducted a thorough search of the entire station premises, but nothing explosive was found," said Mirganj station house officer (SHO) Arvind Singh. Authorities have confirmed that the situation at the station has returned to normal. Police are now working to identify the caller, and legal action will be initiated once the individual is traced.htc...
