Body of missing priest found in Gomti with hands, legs tied
LUCKNOW, Oct. 4 -- A 62-year-old priest who had been missing for three days was found dead in the Gomti river in Sitapur on Friday evening, with his hands and legs were allegedly tied with cloth, raising suspicion that he may have been killed and his body dumped in the swollen river, informed police officials on Saturday.
Villagers spotted the body of Baba Dhaniram, priest at Pipri Baba shrine near Lohra Ghat in Sandana police station area in Sitapur, among bushes and floodwaters around 5 pm. Police recovered the body and sent it for postmortem....
