Gorakhpur, April 19 -- The bodies of three youths who drowned in the Rapti river were recovered on Saturday morning after an overnight search operation by the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and police personnel. The incident took place on Friday afternoon near Banjaraha village under Chiluvatal police station limits. Circle officer Yogendra Singh said one body was found early in the morning, while the other two were later recovered by the rescue team. All three bodies have been sent for post-mortem examination. Family members and villagers stayed at the riverbank throughout the night during the search operation. Emotional scenes were witnessed when the bodies were brought out on Saturday morning. The deceased were identified as Shubham Yadav ,19, Abhay alias Banti ,18, and Shiv Sahni ,20. Officials said the youths had entered a deeper part of the river, which led to the drowning.
