LUCKNOW, Aug. 26 -- BJP MLA from Sarojini Nagar, Rajeshwar Singh, has welcomed the UP Cabinet's decision to hike the monthly stipend for MBBS interns in state government medical colleges from Rs.12,000 to Rs.25,000, calling it a major step toward supporting young doctors. Singh had previously raised the issue directly with chief minister Yogi Adityanath, advocating for a stipend hike in light of the demanding nature of medical internships, escalating living expenses, and the critical role interns play in daily hospital operations. Expressing his gratitude to the CM for taking prompt action, Singh noted that the more than two-fold increase will offer meaningful financial relief to thousands of MBBS interns across the state. He added that boosting intern morale will allow young medical professionals to focus more effectively on clinical training and patient care, reflecting the state government's commitment to youth welfare and reinforcing UP's healthcare workforce. htc...
