KANPUR, Oct. 14 -- Two masked men allegedly tied up BJP OBC Morcha state secretary Ramesh Singh Yadav at his farmhouse in Kanpur and escaped with cash and jewellery after locking him in a bathroom late on Monday night. Police suspect the robbers were familiar with the farmhouse and its security arrangements and have (identified) 12 to 14 people for questioning. According to Rajput, Yadav later told him that two men entered his room, tied his hands and feet and covered his mouth with adhesive tape. They took him to the locker room, where one threatened him with a firearm while the other carried a knife. The men allegedly forced him to open the locker and took cash, a gold chain and a ring. They then locked Yadav in the bathroom before fleeing, leaving him with water and a towel. Yadav managed to remove the tape and call a guard, who reached the room and helped him out. Police received information about the incident around 1:20 am on Tuesday. According to police, no CCTV footage showing the men entering the farmhouse has been found so far.
