LUCKNOW, July 13 -- Uttar Pradesh BJP president and Union minister of state for finance Pankaj Chaudhary, participated in the 'Tree Plantation Mahayagya-2026' on Sunday. The event was organised under the joint aegis of the state government, state forest department, Mission Lifestyle for Environment (LiFE), and Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University at the BBAU campus. Sarojini Nagar MLA Rajeshwar Singh was also present. He said the UP government has made significant strides in environmental conservation through large-scale tree plantation drives, calling the campaign a commitment to ensuring a healthier future for coming generations. BBAU vice-chancellor Shitanshu Pandey was also present. BJP state general secretary (Organisation) Dharampal Singh planted peepal, pakad and banyan saplings at Kukrail forest as part of the drive. BJP office-bearers and workers from the state to the booth level also participated in plantation drives across the state. Dharampal Singh said the campaign was not merely a plantation programme but a mass movement for nature conservation. He urged every family to plant at least one sapling in honour of their mother and ensure its protection for a cleaner and safer future.
