BJP holds spl prayers across UP to mark 12 years of Modi govt
Lucknow, June 11 -- To mark the 12th anniversary of the Narendra Modi-led Union government and commemorate his tenure as the country's longest-serving continuously elected Prime Minister, the Uttar Pradesh unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) held special prayers and religious ceremonies across the state on Wednesday.
State BJP president and Union minister of state for finance Pankaj Chaudhary offered prayers at Hanuman Setu Temple in Lucknow while state general secretary (organisation) Dharampal Singh performed worship at Budheshwar Mahadev Temple. BJP leaders, public representatives and party workers also held special prayers, havans and religious ceremonies in temples across the state.
Chaudhary said that under Modi's leadership, India had achieved remarkable progress in development, good governance, welfare of the poor, self-reliance and global standing over the past 12 years.
Dharampal Singh said the last 12 years would be remembered as a golden chapter of national resurgence, good governance and public welfare.
The BJP said similar programmes were organised in all districts of UP. In Gorakhpur, the party organised a Sundarkand recital, a community feast, and awareness programmes. BJP workers and leaders put up banners at various intersections across Gorakhpur....
