LUCKNOW, Aug. 31 -- The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has begun preparations for the upcoming three-tier panchayat elections and the teachers/graduates' legislative council polls in Uttar Pradesh. State president Bhupendra Singh Chaudhary and general secretary (organisation) Dharampal Singh held back-to-back meetings with party office bearers to finalise strategies at the state headquarters on Saturday. In the panchayat poll meeting, Chaudhary said PM Narendra Modi and chief minister Yogi Adityanath had dedicated their governments to the uplift of villages, farmers and the poor. He urged workers to gear up at the booth level with the resolve to secure victory. Dharampal Singh stressed building a "triple-engine government" by strengthening the BJP at the village level, ensuring voter enrolment of 18+ youth by September 29 and reaching every beneficiary of government schemes. Regional and district-level meetings will be completed by September 10.
