Dehradun, May 30 -- With an eye on the 2027 assembly elections, BJP national president Nitin Nabin on Friday continued a series of organisational meetings in Uttarakhand, signalling the party's early push to strengthen its grassroots network and electoral machinery ahead of the polls. On the second day of his three-day visit to the state, Nabin began his engagements by visiting the residence of former chief minister late Major General BC Khanduri to pay tributes and offer condolences to the bereaved family. He later held separate meetings with MPs, MLAs, district and state office-bearers, morcha presidents, mayors and heads of urban local bodies. The discussions focused on organisational strengthening, outreach programmes and preparations for the 2027 assembly elections, party office-bearers said. Speaking informally to media persons after the meetings, Nabin expressed confidence that the BJP would return to power for a third consecutive term in Uttarakhand. "The enthusiasm among party workers and office-bearers is very encouraging. Based on the feedback we are receiving from across the state, we are confident that the BJP will create history by securing a hat-trick in the 2027 assembly elections," he said. Nabin arrived in Uttarakhand on Thursday for his first visit to the state after assuming charge as BJP national president. Party leaders described the visit as significant as the BJP has begun laying the groundwork for the next assembly election nearly a year and a half in advance. On Thursday, Nabin directed members of the BJP's state core committee to spend two days each in assembly constituencies across Uttarakhand during June, July and August. State BJP president Mahendra Bhatt said the party would closely analyse booths where BJP candidates had faced defeats and formulate strategies to improve performance. "The national president has given clear guidance that our preparations must begin from the booth level. Core committee members will travel extensively across assembly constituencies, interact with workers, assess local issues and ensure that the organisation remains connected with the people. Our objective is to strengthen every booth and secure another decisive mandate in 2027," Bhatt said. According to Bhatt, all 17 members of the state core committee will undertake constituency visits and hold meetings with local leaders and booth-level workers. The feedback collected during these visits will also be shared with the government to help address local concerns, he said. The state BJP leadership said the meetings were focused on organisational preparedness, public outreach and communicating the achievements of the Centre and state....
