LUCKNOW, May 25 -- The BJP on Sunday announced candidates for the upcoming UP Legislative Council elections from graduates' and teachers' constituencies. The party's Central Election Committee cleared the names of five candidates for the biennial polls. According to a party release, Awanish Kumar Singh was fielded from the Lucknow graduates' constituency and Manvendra Pratap Singh from the Agra graduates' seat. For teachers' constituencies, Hari Singh Dhillon was nominated from Bareilly-Moradabad teachers', Umesh Dwivedi from Lucknow teachers', and Shrichand Sharma from Meerut teachers' constituency. Elections to 11 graduates' and teachers' constituencies are scheduled in November-December ahead of the assembly polls.
