Bijnor resident arrested for online learner's licence fraud
LUCKNOW, July 16 -- The Special Task Force (STF) has arrested a Bijnor resident for allegedly operating an interstate racket that fraudulently obtained learner's driving licences by bypassing Aadhaar-based video verification and online tests on the government's Sarathi transport portal.
According to a press note issued by the STF on Wednesday, the accused, identified as Ibrahim Ansari, a resident of Phulsanda Hira village in Bijnor's Nahtaur area, was arrested from his house on Tuesday following intelligence inputs about the illegal operation.
The STF said Ansari allegedly prepared learner's licences for applicants from Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala and several other states by manipulating the online licensing process and charging money through UPI payments....
