LUCKNOW, Aug. 24 -- Swing bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar has added another impressive achievement to his growing record in the UPT20 League, becoming the first bowler in the tournament's history to complete 400 dot balls. The Lucknow Falcons captain reached the landmark on Sunday at the end of his fifth match of the current season. In 35 matches across four seasons, Bhuvneshwar has now bowled 408 dot balls in 124 overs, underlining his remarkable consistency and control with the ball. His season-wise figures reflect the sustained nature of his performance. In Season 1, the experienced pacer bowled 118 dot balls in nine matches. He followed that with 120 dot balls in 11 matches during Season 2 and added another 117 dot balls in 10 matches in Season 3. In the ongoing fourth season, Bhuvneshwar has already produced 53 dot balls in just five matches. The veteran fast bowler has therefore maintained an extraordinary level of discipline throughout his UP T20 League career. His ability to restrict scoring, particularly during the powerplay and at crucial stages of an innings, has made him one of the competition's most effective bowlers. Bhuvneshwar's achievement is even more significant because dot balls often change the momentum of a T20 match. Every delivery that prevents the batter from scoring increases pressure, creates opportunities for wickets and forces attacking batters to take additional risks. With 408 dot balls from 124 overs, Bhuvneshwar is averaging more than three dot balls per over in the tournament. His latest milestone not only highlights his personal excellence but also reflects his value as a leader for the Lucknow Falcons. Earlier, in the day propelled by a sensational all-round display from Ajeet Verma, local outfits Lucknow Falcons edged out the Noida Kings by 12 runs via the DLS method in the UP T20 League 2026. The rain interupted contest at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium produced drama with both bat and ball before the weather intervened. After winning the toss, The Falcons' bowling unit especially Abhinandan Singh was outstanding, returning figures of 4/32 to reclaim the tournament's Purple Cap with 13 wickets from five matches. Ajeet Verma complemented that effort with two incisive strikes as the Kings scored 156/8. In reply, Falcons were 144/5 in 17.3 overs when rain stopped play....
