BHU researchers host scientific outreach programme for school students
VARANASI, July 31 -- Researchers from the Gyan Lab at Banaras Hindu University's (BHU) department of zoology recently hosted an engaging outreach programme, "Tick-Tock, Genes and Us," at a Varanasi school.
The event aimed to simplify complex biological concepts ranging from genetics and human evolution to biological clocks for secondary students.
BHU experts utilised presentations and exhibitions to explain how DNA reveals ancestry and history, discussing topics like the genetic basis of sleep cycles and tribal adaptations. This 'Lab to Land' initiative fosters scientific temper and critical inquiry, moving students beyond rote learning.
By connecting high-level research with the younger generation, BHU hopes to inspire students to pursue rewarding careers in scientific fields....
