PRAYAGRAJ, Sept. 29 -- The 30-year-old son of a Block Development Council (BDC) member was killed after being hit by a train while crossing railway tracks in the Kunda area in Pratapgarh on Sunday evening. The deceased was identified as Nagendra Shukla, the eldest son of farmer Kamlesh Shukla and BDC member Vishakha Devi, residents of Khemipur village under Kunda Kotwali police station. According to police, Nagendra had gone out on Sunday and was returning home by auto-rickshaw in the evening. He got off at Babuganj market and attempted to cross the railway tracks on foot. At around 7.10pm, he was hit by the Nauchandi Express, which was traveling from Prayagraj towards Lucknow. He died on the spot.
