Babu Lal Meena appointed Board of Revenue chairman
LUCKNOW, Oct. 1 -- The Uttar Pradesh government on Wednesday appointed 1991-batch IAS officer Babu Lal Meena as chairman, Board of Revenue, following the retirement of 1990-batch officer Archana Agarwal.
Additional chief secretary (tourism and culture) Amrit Abhijat was given additional charge of chairman, UPSRTC. He had earlier been given charge of ACS (transport).
More reshuffling is on the cards in the state bureaucracy in October, with changes expected in various departments as well as at the divisional and district levels.
The reshuffle is also being planned in view of the Election Commission's direction to shift officers directly connected with election duties who have completed three years in a district. The state government has already transferred some district magistrates and superintendents of police, while more transfers of officers of the rank of DMs and divisional commissioners are expected this month. A reshuffle at the senior level in the state bureaucracy is also likely following the retirement of 1990-batch IAS officer Deepak Kumar in October. Kumar currently holds charge of several key departments and posts, including agriculture production commissioner, infrastructure and industrial development commissioner (IIDC), chairman, UPEIDA, ACS (civil aviation), ACS (finance, institutional finance and external aided projects), chairman, State Vigilance Commission and Administrative Tribunal, and project director, UP DASP.
Officers of the 1991, 1992, 1993 and 1994 batches are likely to be appointed to key posts as part of the reshuffle....
