AYUSH policy to give incentive to investors in UP
LUCKNOW, July 21 -- State's first Ayush policy will give investors major incentive for establishing manufacturing units in state.
Under this policy, the draft of which is ready for approval by the state cabinet, investors establishing AYUSH colleges, hospitals, and pharmaceutical companies will receive incentives. Investments by private companies will promote herbal farming and create new employment opportunities for local residents.
Aiming to transform Uttar Pradesh into an AYUSH tourism hub by adopting models successfully implemented in southern states, the policy will offer incentive up to 25% for setting up manufacturing units.
The new AYUSH policy comprises three main categories. The first category involves the establishment of colleges and 400-bed hospitals based on the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model, where all AYUSH disciplines will operate within a single campus, said a senior official. The second category covers hospitals with a capacity of 50 to 100 beds, while the third category focuses on AYUSH Tourism Villages.
These villages will offer a range of services, including Panchakarma, Kayakalp therapy.
Under the new policy, subsidies will be higher for establishing colleges, hospitals, or manufacturing units in underserved districts while subsidy rates will be lower in major cities like Lucknow.
The state encompasses various climatic zones, each offering an environment suitable for specific types of medicinal plant cultivation.
Companies establishing Ayurvedic medicine production units in these zones will be granted incentives, provided they source the maximum amount of raw material from local farmers and prioritize them for employment.
The aim is to establish advanced centers for every AYUSH-related discipline within the state. The new policy is being formulated to attract a maximum number of investors to the AYUSH sector, said the official....
