LUCKNOW, Sept. 12 -- Lucknow Police and District Legal Services Authority have launched a joint awareness campaign ahead of the National Lok Adalat scheduled for September 12, using Dial-112 PRV vehicles and SMS messages to reach residents, including those in rural and remote areas. District judge Malkhan Singh and police nodal officer for the National Lok Adalat, Kiran Yadav, flagged off the PRV vehicles from the district court premises on Friday. Police said around 19 lakh SMS messages have been sent to Lucknow residents regarding pending Motor Vehicles Act challans, urging them to use the Lok Adalat for their settlement. The Lok Adalat will facilitate settlement of compoundable cases, including civil, family, MACT, banking, consumer, revenue and traffic challan matters, through mutual agreement.
