PATNA, July 6 -- A-21-year-old auto-rickshaw driver Mohammad Shamshad Alam was sent to jail on Sunday in connection with the alleged kidnapping and rape of a 14-year-old girl who had gone missing for the last three days from Gardanibagh area. An FIR was lodged with Gardanibagh police station on Saturday. Police said the girl's family traced her to an auto-rickshaw near the planetarium under Kotwali police station. "The family chased the auto and caught Shamshad near Mandiri area and handed him over to police," an officer said. The girl was found unconscious and was taken to a hospital. She is in critical condition, the family said. Sachiwalaya DSP Anu Kumari said, "Police received a complaint that a man kidnapped a girl on some pretext. The accused was sent to jail. A Forensic Science Laboratory team has been called to collect evidence. Probe is on." The family alleged that police found pictures of Hindu deities as Shamshad's WhatsApp display....
