Lucknow, June 9 -- A history-sheeter with a previous rape case against him was arrested after a police encounter in Para on Monday for allegedly targeting women travelling for examinations, police said. The accused, Haseeb, a resident of Hardoi currently living in Para, allegedly picked up two young women near Charbagh bus stand on the pretext of taking them to Alambagh. Instead, he allegedly drove them to a secluded spot near Ramlila Ground and attempted to sexually assault them. When the women resisted, he allegedly assaulted and injured them before fleeing.
