Army Public School wins heritage quiz
Lucknow, Aug. 31 -- The Lucknow Chapter of INTACH (Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage) organised the city round of the INTACH National Heritage Quiz 2025 at La Martiniere College on Saturday. This quiz, held every year by INTACH New Delhi, aims to create awareness among students about India's rich cultural and historical heritage.
This year, the event began with a written preliminary round, which saw participation from 82 students forming 41 teams across 21 schools. After the written round, four top-scoring teams moved on to the final quiz round. The final was exciting and included six rounds of questions based on local, state, and national heritage.
The final round saw close competition among the teams. After a tough battle of knowledge, Utkarsh Vishwakarma and Shreyasi Chakraborty of Army Public School, Nehru Road emerged as the winners. The second prize was bagged by Pulkit Deshwal and Samriddhi Bajpai of Study Hall School. An additional team from La Martiniere College, made up of Yasub Ali Raza and Shaashwat Srivastava, received an honourable mention for their performance.
The winners were awarded by Mukesh Meshram, principal secretary of tourism and culture, government of Uttar Pradesh. He praised the young participants for their interest in heritage and encouraged them to remain proud of India's cultural legacy. He said students have a major role to play in preserving and promoting the country's traditions.
The event was also attended by Gary Dominic Everett, principal of La Martiniere College, the quiz masters Surabhi Modi Sahai and Aditya Wakhlu from CLAT Possible, and INTACH members NKS Chauhan, prof Sumna Varshney, Kanak Rekha Chauhan, Neetu Agarwal (Convener), and Dhanunjay Varshney (Co-Convener). The winning team from Army Public School will now represent Lucknow at the UP state final of the National Heritage Quiz 2025.
