LUCKNOW, May 22 -- Unseeded Anya caused another upset on Thursday to enter girls' singles final of the AITA Under-14 Championship Series, outplaying fourth fourth-seed Anvesha Singh in straight sets, at the Vijayantkhand Stadium here. Continuing her superior run in the event, Anya dropped just four games in the second set to complete the rout with the scoreline reading 6-0, 6-4. After an emphatic first set, Anya weathered increased resistance in the second but held her nerve to close out the match and reach the final. The other semi-final turned out to be a one-sided affair as top-seed Saundarya Jaiswal continued her imperious run, defeating third-seed Aashi Kiran 6-0, 6-2. Saundarya combined precise baseline punch with smart court positioning to overwhelm her opponent, rarely giving Aashi the chance to build momentum. On the boys' side, top-seed Haris Khan edged a dramatic three-set encounter against fourth-seed Tejas Singh, prevailing 6-7(3), 7-6 (6), 6-3. After narrowly dropping the opening set in a tiebreak, Haris showed resilience and mental toughness to claw back in the second, saving crucial points and taking the set in another tense breaker. With momentum firmly in his favour entering the decider, Haris increased his first-serve percentage and moved forward aggressively, dictating play to close out the match and book his spot in the final. The other boys' semi-final was a more straightforward affair as third-seed Yuvraaj Singh dominated Riddhiman Rajput 6-0, 6-1. Yuvraaj's all-court game and consistent depth kept Riddhiman on the defensive throughout, forcing errors and converting break points....
