LAKHIMPUR KHERI, March 9 -- Following the successful capture of a female leopard in the South Nighasan range on Friday, forest officials from the Dudhwa buffer zone captured another leopard from Dubghatta Nulla in the Dhaurahra forest range on Sunday. The leopard that was captured has been identified as a fully grown adult male. Deputy director of Dudhwa buffer zone Kirti Chaudhary stated that the leopard had been under surveillance since December 31, 2025, following the fatal attack on 60-year-old Sirajuddin from Magrauli village. She added that during patrolling and camera monitoring, the movements of several leopards were observed, prompting the installation of cages in sensitive areas to prevent further conflicts. She stated that the efforts yielded results when a male leopard was captured from the area on February 2. However, as the movements of additional leopards were detected, monitoring continued and the cages remained in place, resulting in the capture of another male leopard on Sunday. htc...
