LUCKNOW, Sept. 25 -- Union home and cooperation minister Amit Shah, along with chief minister Yogi Adityanath, will inaugurate the five-day 4th Uttar Pradesh International Trade Show (UPITS) 2026 at India Expo Centre & Mart, Greater Noida, on Friday. The theme of the event, which aims to establish UP as a global sourcing hub, is "Ultimate Sourcing Begins Here." Defence minister Rajnath Singh will be present at the valedictory session on September 29. Announcing details at a high-level press conference on Thursday, MSME minister Bhupendra Chaudhary said MSME sector is backbone of UP economy with over 96 lakh units, and government is building an ecosystem where enterprises can grow, innovate and compete globally. The UPITS will expand market access for local enterprises and create new avenues for investment and employment, he said. Principal secretary (MSME) Shashi Bhushan Lal Sushil, GB Nagar DM and IEML chairman Rakesh Kumar were present. The fourth edition, jointly organised by the UP government and India Exposition Mart Ltd, will be bigger and more international. Six partner countries including Austria, Japan, Russia, Singapore, Belarus and Vietnam will participate, opening doors for business partnerships, technology collaboration, sourcing and investment. International buyer ecosystem is already expanding. Registrations have come from 72 countries so far through FIEO's Hosted Buyer Programme which brings genuine buyers, importers, distributors, retailers, sourcing agents and procurement heads with dedicated B2B matchmaking. This year, the show expects 2,400 plus exhibitors, 1.5 lakh plus B2B buyers/visitors, 4.5 lakh plus general visitors and 550 plus international buyers from 85 countries. The trade show will showcase breadth of the UP economy: agriculture, automobile, EV, aviation, defence, electronics, e-commerce, IT and smart-city solutions, film, fisheries, animal husbandry and dairy, food processing, FMCG, horticulture, handloom, handicrafts and textiles, health, wellness, AYUSH, pharma, medical equipment, infra, engineering, manufacturing, real estate, leather, tourism, hospitality, sports, toys, renewable energy, logistics, warehousing, retail, financial services, education, skill, packaging, printing, water and sanitation. A major attraction will be the state's cultural and culinary identity. Alongside One District One Product (ODOP), this edition will give special visibility to One District One Cuisine (ODOC), presenting traditional recipes and food heritage of different districts, officials said....
