New Delhi, July 7 -- The Appointment Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the Union home ministry's proposal for appointments of senior IPS officers as director generals in the Bureau of Police Research and Development (BPR&D), the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) and the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy (SVPNPA), according to an order issued by the department of personnel and training on Monday. According to the order, IPS officer Alok Kumar Mittal has been appointed as BPR&D DG. The ACC also approved the appointment of Amit Garg, IPS, currently serving as SVPNPA director, as director of NCRB. Sujeet Pandey has been appointed as director of SVPNPA, replacing Amit Garg, the order said. Pandey will head the SVPNPA, a civil service training institute for IPS officers after their induction into the service and before being sent to their respective cadres.
