Lucknow, June 25 -- The fallout of the Aliganj commercial building fire has prompted a multi-pronged response from the Lucknow Development Authority (LDA). The authority has widened its probe into alleged regulatory lapses, recommending action against additional officials, including six PCS officers, and reviewing nearly a decade of records. It has also made fire safety affidavits mandatory for most building plan approvals and ordered a citywide audit of high-footfall buildings. In one of its biggest enforcement drives, the LDA sealed 71 establishments and served notices to 83 others for building and fire safety violations.
