LUCKNOW, May 27 -- Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU) has launched a probe after content resembling the Computer Network semester exam question paper was allegedly found with a student at a Ghaziabad exam centre on May 21.
According to university officials, the incident came to light after the centre superintendent, observer, and invigilator recovered a handwritten chit from a student during the examination. Another student who became a whistleblower told authorities that he had seen related content circulating online.
Preliminary findings suggest that material matching the paper went viral on social media before the exam.
Officials said question papers are typically dispatched 30-35 minutes prior to the exam. The suspected leak appears limited to one centre in the Noida-Ghaziabad region, pointing to possible mishandling of centre credentials.
AKTU Controller of Examinations Prof Deepak Nagaria said a committee is already examining the matter. "The cyber cell has been intimated and the local police station is also inquiring. We are treating this as a case of credential mishandling at the centre level," Prof Nagaria said.
As a precaution, the university has cancelled the Computer Network paper for students who appeared at the affected centre. A re-examination has been scheduled for June 5.
He also said that to ensure no such act reoccurs, AKTU has mandated that centre superintendents reset login passwords 15 minutes prior to the exam....
