Dehradun, Oct. 25 -- Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Saturday hit out at Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Akhilesh Yadav over his alleged "infiltrators" jibe at the people of the state. The SP, however, has dismissed the allegation and called the clip "AI-generated or manipulated". In a clip shared on social media, Yadav is addressing a press conference, where he is purportedly heard saying, "Who are the biggest infiltrators in UP? People from Uttarakhand... Infiltrators will have to be defined". HT could not independently verify the authenticity of the video. Taking to X on Saturday, Dhami wrote, "This sacred land has given the nation saints, soldiers, and numerous dedicated personalities committed to national service.Calling the people of Uttarakhand 'infiltrators', Akhilesh Yadav Ji, is an insult to the self-respect of Devbhoomi and to our struggles". " He also referred to the 1994 Rampur Tiraha firing during the statehood movement, which took place under late Mulayam Singh Yadav. "Bullets were fired at Uttarakhand activists during the father's regime, and today the son is calling the people of Uttarakhand infiltrators!" "Akhilesh Yadav ji has deep regard and respect for people of Uttarakhand. His wife also hails from Pauri Garhwal... so it seems AI-generated or manipulated," said SP's senior state leader Rajendra Parashar....
