Lucknow, Sept. 21 -- Samajwadi Party national president Akhilesh Yadav on Sunday declared his party would work to increase its votes by 27,000 and reduce the BJP's by the same margin in every constituency in the assembly elections due early next year. Further, he alleged the BJP government disrespected Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar and the Dalit community, citing the alleged vandalism of 151 statues of the Dalit icon across the state. Addressing the state executive committee meeting at the party headquarters and later speaking to the media, Yadav said elections could be announced anytime. "This time the Samajwadi Party is going to form the government," he asserted. "In the documents we have prepared, 151 statues of Babasaheb have been broken. Only in 14 cases have arrests been made. In 45 cases, FIRs have been registered against unknown persons. In 18 cases, named accused have been mentioned. No action has been taken in the rest. Babasaheb is being insulted across the entire state. The BJP government does not respect Babasaheb or his people," he claimed. On the party's election strategy, the former chief minister said: "We have collectively decided that we will work to increase 27,000 votes in every assembly constituency. In this way, we will reduce the BJP's votes by 27,000. These votes will come to the Samajwadi Party." He urged party leaders and workers to maximise public contact, use technology alongside personal outreach, help people secure justice, and treat everyone with respect. He claimed a favourable atmosphere had developed for the SP due to PDA unity. Yadav promised that an SP government would ensure justice for all sections - farmers, labourers, traders, students and youth - and make Uttar Pradesh the best-developed state through social justice....
