PRAYAGRAJ, Oct. 10 -- Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) leader Rajiv Paswan on Friday accused Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav of neglecting the legacy of late Dalit leader and former Union minister Ram Vilas Paswan despite frequently advocating the rights of backward classes, Dalits and minorities under the PDA banner. Addressing media persons in the city, Rajiv Paswan, who heads the east UP unit of the party, referred to the event held in Lucknow on Thursday to mark Ram Vilas Paswan's sixth death anniversary. He said Yadav neither attended the programme nor paid tribute to the late leader. He noted that chief minister Yogi Adityanath, ministers and leaders from various political parties attended the event and paid tribute to Ram Vilas Paswan. He also said the chief minister highlighted Paswan's contributions to the society and assured that, like Bihar, Uttar Pradesh would also honour his legacy. On behalf of the party, Rajiv Paswan expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the chief minister.
